About
The hut offers basic accommodation for 20 people in dormitory-style rooms. A caretaker manages the hut during weekends and school holidays year-round, and provides simple meals on request—typically hearty mountain fare rather than fine dining. Water comes from a spring. The hut has no electricity or heating beyond a wood stove. The Doubs gorge itself draws hikers who use Perrenoud as a base for day walks through beech forest and along the river canyon. Spring through autumn offers the most reliable weather.
Book directly with the SAC section Neuchâteloise well ahead, especially for weekends and holidays when local walkers arrive in numbers. Mid-summer can be crowded; October and May offer quieter conditions. Call or email to confirm the caretaker is present, as staffing depends on the season.
