CAS les Marindes

Les Marindes sits at 1868m in the Vaud Alps, serving as a base for ridge walking and alpine meadow hiking across the region. Reach the hut from Le Sepey (on the Aigle–Leysin railway line) in 2.5 hours via the Col de la Forclaz. Alternatively, approach from Leysin in 3 hours ascending through forest to open terrain. The hut sits on the frontier ridge between Vaud and Valais, with direct access to a network of marked trails linking to neighboring huts and peaks.
Les Marindes is a simple, no-frills refuge with 40 beds split across shared dorms. You bring and prepare your own food using the self-catering kitchen. Water comes from a reliable spring source. There is no WiFi. The hut operates year-round, though snow closures can affect winter access. Expect basic Alpine hut conditions: clean, functional, unheated common areas. This is a working mountaineer's refuge, not a guesthouse.
Book directly by email with SAC–CAS. The hut fills quickly during July and August weekends; contact them 6–8 weeks ahead for summer dates. Spring and autumn are less pressured. Confirm current opening hours and any restrictions before traveling, as small SAC huts sometimes close for maintenance.
