Sillianer Hut

Sillianer Hütte sits at 2,455m on the eastern edge of the Defereggen Valley in East Tyrol. Reach it from the village of Sillian in around 3 hours on foot, heading southwest through meadows and larch forest. The trail is well-marked and moderately steep. You can also approach from the Defereggen Valley side in roughly the same time. The hut serves as a solid base for traversing the surrounding peaks and ridge walks in the Rieserferner-Ahrn range.
The hut has 40 beds split between 7 private rooms and dormitory space, managed by OeAV Sektion Sillian. Half-board and full-board meals are available. The kitchen serves typical Alpine fare. Showers are on-site. There is no WiFi. The hut stays open from June through September. In July and August expect crowds on weekends.
Book directly by email or phone at least 6 weeks ahead for July and August weekend stays. Midweek visits and shoulder months (June, September) are easier to secure. The hut fills quickly during good weather windows. Confirm your arrival time when you book, as the guardian keeps limited hours. Summer is the only realistic season—snow and cold make visits outside June to September impractical for most parties.
