Kleinzeller Hinteralm

The hut serves as a base for ridge walks across the Hochschwab massif and access to gentler forest trails through the surrounding beech and spruce woodland. Walking times to nearby peaks range from 90 minutes to the Felsenlabyrinth scramble area to 3 hours for the longer ridge approaches.
The hut operates year-round and offers straightforward accommodation with bed spaces in shared rooms. Simple meals and drinks are available; bring cash as card payment may be unreliable in this remote location. There's no generator-based power, so the setup is basic but reliable. Water comes from the spring. The location suits hikers wanting solitude rather than those seeking modern amenities or views over dramatic terrain. Summer sees regular weekend traffic; weekdays are quiet.
