Liasenböndlhütte
4.3About
The hut is small and traditional. It sleeps around 30 guests in mixed and family rooms with basic bedding. The keeper serves simple meals—Schnitzel, soup, hearty bread—cooked from Austrian staples. Water comes from the spring. There's no electricity or mobile signal; that's the point. Open weekends year-round and daily July to September. The OeAV (Austrian Alpine Club) manages it.
Book directly by phone or post well ahead for summer weekends—July and August fill fast. Single nights are possible mid-week. Bring cash; card payment is not reliable. The hut closes briefly each November for maintenance. It works best as a base for 2 to 3 days of gentle forest hiking, or as an overnight stop on longer routes through the Mostviertel. Winter access is uncertain; confirm with the keeper before planning a cold-season visit.
