Bischlingalm
2.9About
This is a simple operation. The hut offers around 30 beds in basic dormitory rooms, a small restaurant serving traditional Salzburg fare, and hot showers. Meals are hearty: expect schnitzel, cheese soup, and good bread. The kitchen opens from spring through autumn, though exact dates depend on weather and staffing. Stock beer and soft drinks are reliably available. The hut sits at the intersection of several marked trails: scrambles toward the Gjaidalm, a traverse across the Tennengebirge via the Hochkönig range, and loops back down to valley towns.
Book directly with the hut (phone or email preferred—no online system). July and August are busy; book 4–6 weeks ahead for weekends. May through October is reliable season, though snow can linger until late May. The hut fills quickly on fine-weather weekends, so secure a bed early. Arrive by mid-afternoon to guarantee a meal. Payment in cash only—no card terminal.
