Hiaslalm
3.4About
The hut operates year-round and beds around 40 guests in simple shared rooms. Half-board is standard: hearty Austrian fare at dinner and a solid breakfast. The kitchen produces schnitzel, strudel and seasonal vegetable dishes. Facilities include a dining room, small bar and basic washrooms heated in winter. Water comes direct from a spring. The hut is staffed by the warden and family. Solar panels and a small generator provide power. Evening temperatures drop fast at this elevation even in summer.
Book directly by email or phone at least 6 weeks ahead for weekends from June through September. July and August see steady foot traffic from day-hikers and overnight guests. May and early June are quieter but weather is less stable. Winter brings mostly ski-tourers and snowshoe hikers. The warden speaks German primarily; basic English works for booking. Pay in cash on arrival or arrange transfer beforehand.
