Hofpürglhütte

The Hofpürglhütte sits at 1,705m in the Salzburg Alps, accessible from the Dienten valley. The standard approach takes 2.5 hours from the village of Dienten am Pass. The hut works as a base for day hikes across the surrounding ridges and valleys, with straightforward trails to neighbouring peaks and alpine meadows. In winter, ski touring routes converge on the hut, making it a useful waypoint for longer quests across the range.

The hut sleeps around 50 guests in mixed and smaller rooms. Hot showers are available—a genuine asset after sweaty ascents. The kitchen serves half-board (dinner and breakfast) as standard, though packed lunches can be arranged. Evening meals focus on hearty alpine fare: soups, stews, and local cheeses. The hut runs year-round, though staffing levels drop in shoulder seasons. There is no WiFi; the isolation is intentional.

Phone ahead before arriving. Summer weekends book solid 4–6 weeks in advance, especially July and August. Midweek slots open up more readily. The hut is managed as part of the wider Austrian Alpine Club network, and accommodation policies follow OeAV standards for member and non-member rates.
