Tischleralm

Tischleralm sits at 1,848m in the Loferer and Leoganger Limestone Alps, a 2.5-hour walk from Fieberbrunn in the Pillerseetal valley. Start from the village and follow the marked trail steadily uphill through forest and Alpine meadow. The hut perches on a high plateau with views across to the Leoganger Steinberge ridges. The approach is straightforward hiking terrain—no scrambling required.

The hut is family-run and holds about 40 guests. They serve hearty Austrian mountain food at lunch and dinner; order meals when you book. Dorms and a few double rooms are available. The hut has basic facilities: hot showers, toilets, and a small bar. It operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions. The summer season (June to September) draws regular hikers on circuits across the limestone plateau. Spring and autumn offer quieter walking with good weather windows.

Book directly by phone or email 6–8 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Mid-week and shoulder season visits need less advance notice. The hut sits on a popular waymarked route, so don't expect solitude in peak season, but staff manage numbers well. Arrive by early afternoon to settle in before dinner service.
