The Bremer Hütte lies at 2,413 m on the main crest of the Stubai Alps, at the head of the upper Gschnitztal — a side valley of the Wipptal — in Tyrol. Built in 1897 and owned by Sektion Bremen of the German Alpine Club (DAV), it is a classic high-alpine base surrounded by waterfalls, mountain tarns and glacier-polished rock. It is best known as a stage on the Stubai High Trail (Stubaier Höhenweg) and the Gschnitztal hut walk, and as a springboard for peaks such as the Innere Wetterspitze and the Feuerstein group. The hut provides roughly 19 beds in rooms plus around 50 mattress-dormitory places, with catering during the season and a material lift that can carry rucksacks up from the valley. It opens for the summer high-mountain season, broadly mid-June to late September, weather permitting. The usual approach starts in the Gschnitztal, with parking near the Gasthof Feuerstein and an optional taxi shuttle towards the Laponesalm, from where it is about three and a half hours of steady climbing to the hut. Coming along the Stubai High Trail from the Innsbrucker Hütte is a longer, more demanding high-level stage. The setting is remote and genuinely alpine.

It is a summer-only high-alpine hut, generally open from around mid-June to late September, depending on conditions. Check current dates with the hut before your trip.
The standard route starts in the Gschnitztal (parking near Gasthof Feuerstein, optional taxi towards Laponesalm) and takes about three and a half hours of steady ascent to the hut.
The Gschnitztal ascent is a serious mountain hike gaining over 1,000 m, best for fit, experienced walkers. High-trail stages to and from the hut cross exposed alpine terrain and are demanding.
The hut is staffed and catered in season with beds and mattress-dormitory sleeping places. A material lift can transport rucksacks up from the valley to ease the ascent.
