Fürthermoaralm/Ebmatten
2.4About
The hut is run by the Zillertal Alpine Club and stays open year-round (though call ahead in winter). Capacity is modest—around 40 beds in simple rooms. Food is basic but honest: Alpine Club standards, not fine dining. Expect stews, schnitzel, and good coffee. The kitchen will pack lunches for onward walks. Water comes from the alp spring. There's a small beer garden if the weather holds. Toilets are inside; showers available but confirm before booking.
Book direct by phone (confirm current number locally—the hut changes hands periodically). July and August fill up, especially weekends. Spring and autumn are quieter. This is a working dairy alm first, a hut second, so expect the rhythm of the alp around you. Arrive by 5pm if you want dinner.
