Haiminger Alm

Haiminger Alm sits at 1,786m in the Ötztal, Tyrol, above the village of Haiming. The hut is reached via a steady 2-hour climb from Haiming village (1,180m), following marked trails through mixed forest and alpine meadow. You can also approach from the Ötztal road by parking near Haiming and walking the Forstweg (forest road) for a gentler 2.5-hour ascent. The location puts you on the western flank of the valley with good access to surrounding ridges and peaks.
Haiminger Alm is a working dairy farm and simple guesthouse with roughly 20 beds in basic dormitory and double rooms. The kitchen serves straightforward Austrian food: schnitzel, käsespätzle, and seasonal soups. Most guests stay half-board (dinner and breakfast included). The hut has running water, heating, and basic shower facilities. It opens year-round but is quietest in winter when snow limits hiking options. Summer and autumn weekends draw local day-trippers from the Ötztal.

The hut is family-friendly and popular with trail runners using the Ötztal circuit routes. Winter access depends on snow conditions; confirm by phone before visiting outside summer months.
