Höllentalangerhütte

The Höllentalangerhütte sits at 1387m in the Ötztal, deep in the Ötztal Alps. You reach it from Längenfeld by hiking up the Höllentalanger valley—figure 2 to 2.5 hours depending on fitness. The trail follows the valley floor with steady elevation gain through forest. This is straightforward hiking, not technical terrain. The hut serves as a base for day walks around the upper valley and as a staging point for mountaineers heading into the higher peaks above.
The hut has capacity for around 70 guests across dormitory beds. It offers breakfast and packed lunches, plus evening meals when you book ahead. Showers are available—a genuine comfort at this elevation. The DAV Sektion München runs the place with standard Alpine Club standards for cleanliness and maintenance. The hut opens year-round, though services drop in winter months when the valley gets quieter. Expect the busiest periods mid-June through September and during school holidays.
