Lamsenjochhütte

Lamsenjochhütte sits at 1953m in the Lamsengrund valley, between the Karwendel and Vomp ranges. Reach it from Stans or Vomp by hiking up the Lamsengrund—allow 3 to 3.5 hours from Vomp on a straightforward trail. The hut serves as a base for traverses across the Karwendel and access to peaks like the Lamsenspitze. Winter access is limited; check conditions with the hut before attempting approaches in snow.
The DAV Sektion Oberland operates this 60-bed hut and opens it year-round. Half-board includes a simple breakfast and dinner. Showers are available. The hut has no WiFi. Food is standard Alpine hut fare—hearty soups, meat dishes, and vegetable sides. Bring cash; card payment is unreliable in this valley. Sleeping arrangements are in 4 to 8-bed dorms with blankets and pillows provided—bring a liner or sleep sack.
Book 3 months ahead for July and August weekends. Midweek outside summer needs less notice. Call the hut direct on the number listed with DAV to reserve.
