Probstalmhütte

Probstalmhütte sits at 1,376m in the Benediktenwand massif, roughly 45 minutes' walk south of the village of Bad Tölz. The approach from Bad Tölz heads through mixed forest alongside the Probstbach stream. Most hikers reach the hut in 1.5 to 2 hours from the valley. It also works as a rest point on longer traverses of the Benediktenwand range, connecting easily to routes toward Rabenkopf and the wider Tölz Alps network.
The hut sleeps 28 people in simple shared rooms. It operates as a self-catering refuge with flush toilets but no shower facilities or piped drinking water. You'll need to bring water or collect it from the stream. The DAV Sektion München und Oberland manages the hut, which operates year-round but is staffed only on weekends and public holidays during winter. Summer sees steady use from walkers doing day trips into the Benediktenwand, and mountaineers using it as a base for scrambling on the surrounding peaks.
