Stablalm
3.6About
Stablalm is a traditional working alpine dairy farm converted to a hut, which shapes what you'll find here. The hut sleeps around 30 people in simple dormitory and small private rooms. Meals focus on hearty farm food—expect schnitzel, kaiserschmarrn, and soup. Half-board and full-board rates are standard. The hut is open year-round, though check ahead for winter closures. There's no WiFi, so come ready to disconnect. The atmosphere is relaxed and local rather than slick—this isn't a destination hut, it's a working farm where hikers stay.
Book your stay by phone directly with the hut. Summer weekends and Austrian school holidays (late July through August, Easter, Whitsun) fill quickly, so contact 4–6 weeks ahead for those periods. Outside peak season, you can often book with shorter notice. The hut doesn't have a website, so a phone call is your only option—have someone who speaks German help if needed, or email ahead to ask for confirmation.
