Schwarzwaldhütte
3.7About
The hut is operated by the OeAV and provides simple accommodation in dormitory beds and a few private rooms. The kitchen serves hearty Tyrolean food and packed lunches for onward hiking. Capacity is around 30 people. Water comes directly from a mountain spring. The hut operates year-round but sees fewer visitors November through March. Expect basic facilities—no shower, basic washrooms—typical of mountain huts at this elevation.
Book direct with the hut by phone or email at least 2–3 weeks ahead for summer weekends, longer for July and August. The hut fills quickly on Fridays and Saturdays from June through September. Arrive by mid-afternoon to secure a place if you walk up on the day.
