Leutkircher Hut

Leutkircher Hütte sits at 2,251m on the Hochfrazzagruppe massif in Vorarlberg's Allgäu Alps. Reach it in 3 hours from Sibratsgfäll to the north or 3.5 hours from the south via Schönenbach. The approach is straightforward and popular with hikers heading into the high meadows and limestone terrain. Winter access is limited; the hut closes October to May.
The hut accommodates 60 people across dormitory beds. Meals follow standard Alpine Club standards: hearty dinners, substantial breakfasts, packed lunches available. Showers are available, which matters on longer traverses. The DAV Sektion Leutkirch maintains the building and runs it on a seasonal basis. This is a working hut for through-hikers rather than a destination in itself—useful as a base for exploring Hochfrazzagruppe or as a waypoint on north-south ridgeline routes through Vorarlberg.
Book 8 weeks ahead for July and August; shoulder months (June and September) fill 4-6 weeks prior. Outside those windows, direct booking is usually possible. Contact the hut by phone or email. Bring your DAV membership card or be prepared for a small non-member surcharge. The hut sits exposed at 2,251m—weather can deteriorate rapidly, so plan accordingly and confirm conditions before departure.
