Stuttgarter Hut

Stuttgarter Hütte sits at 2,310m in the Vorarlberg Alps, accessible from the Silvrettastraße valley road. The standard approach is from Partenen via the Silvretta Stausee (reservoir) to the hut—allow 3 to 4 hours for a steady climb gaining 600m. You can also reach it from the Bartholomäberg side via Sünser Joch in similar time. The DAV manages the hut and maintains the routes well.
The hut holds 56 beds across simple but functional dormitory rooms. Expect hot meals at dinner and a hearty breakfast. There's a small bar. The facilities are basic: no WiFi, no shower, but running water and toilet facilities work reliably. The hut opens mid-June through early October. It sits at an ideal staging point for traverses in the Silvretta range, particularly toward Fluchthorn, Piz Buin, or onward to other DAV huts.
Book directly with the hut by phone or email at least 4 weeks ahead, especially for July and August weekends. The hut fills quickly during good weather windows. Phone booking is faster than email if you're flexible on dates. Expect to pay standard DAV member rates if you hold a membership card—non-members pay slightly more. Half-board (bed plus dinner and breakfast) is compulsory on most nights.
