Refuge de la Blanche
2.9About
The refuge holds 18 beds across simple dormitory rooms. Meals focus on hearty mountain fare: evening three-course dinners and packed lunches for the next day are included with overnight stays. The guardian manages a small kitchen and can usually accommodate dietary requirements with advance notice. Water comes from a spring on the property. The hut operates year-round but is reliably staffed June through September; winter access requires mountaineering skill and advance coordination.
Book directly by email or phone at least 2–3 months ahead for July and August weekends. June and September are quieter but still busy on weekends. The hut fills fastest Thursday to Sunday during peak season. Phone calls work better than email for quick confirmation. Plan to arrive by late afternoon to allow time for acclimatisation and a quiet evening before early summit starts.
