Cabin du Pasquier

Cabane du Pasquier sits at 2,212m in the Alpes-Maritimes, in the high limestone country between the Vallée de la Tinée and the Vallée de la Vésubie. This is a small, remote refuge, not a hub hut. Most parties approach from the Refuge de Nice (also called Refuge de la Madone de Fenestre) via the GR5 or GR52, a route of roughly 4–5 hours depending on snow and scrambling. The cabin works best as a base for days in the Chaîne de Mercantour or as a night stop on longer ridge traverses.
The cabin is a basic shelter with 6 beds arranged in simple dormitory style. Water comes from a nearby spring; in dry season check availability before committing to a night. There is no guardian (gardien) and no meals provided. You bring your own food and camping stove. The hut typically opens June through September, weather permitting, though access can be blocked by snow into July. Winter and early spring attempts require proper alpine skills and avalanche awareness.
This is a self-service refuge managed informally by local mountaineers and the FFCAM. Book by contacting the Refuge de Nice, which holds the key and can advise on current condition. Alternatively, check with the Parc National du Mercantour office in Saint-Martin-Vésubie. Expect to be alone or with one other party. The hut suits experienced hikers comfortable with minimal facilities and self-sufficiency at altitude.
