Rifugio Alfredo Talarico

Rifugio Alfredo Talarico sits at 1,680m in the Ligurian Alps, above the Val Fontanavecchia. The hut is reached via the town of Monesi di Triora, which is accessible by car from the coast near Imperia. From Monesi, the walking trail climbs roughly 2–2.5 hours to the hut, gaining 800m. The route is well-marked and popular with day-walkers and multi-day hikers exploring the ridge network between Liguria and Piedmont.
The rifugio has capacity for around 25 guests in dormitory and small private rooms. Meals are served daily during the season, and water is available. The hut operates year-round but is quieter in winter; summer weekends and July attract steady traffic. Basic cooking facilities are available if you bring your own supplies, though the kitchen is primarily for staff use.
