Cabin de Susanfe

Cabane de Susanfe sits at 2,110m in the Massif du Mont-Blanc massif in Haute-Savoie. The hut is accessible via the Vallée de Montjoie. Most parties approach from Saint-Gervais or Chamonix valley and hike 4–5 hours from the village of Les Contamines-Montjoie. A mule service operates seasonally for those carrying heavy loads. Winter access depends on snow conditions and typically requires ski or snowshoe approaches.
The cabin sleeps 71 people across mixed and private rooms. Half-board and full-board meals are available daily during the season, with hearty alpine cuisine. A self-catering kitchen serves those who prefer to cook. Drinking water is reliable. The hut operates year-round but staffing and services are reduced November to March. Summer weekends fill fast; mid-week slots and shoulder seasons offer easier access.
Book directly by email or telephone as soon as your dates are fixed—for July and August, aim for 2–3 months ahead. The hut manages its own reservation system, so contact them directly rather than through intermediaries. Outside high season, booking one month in advance is usually sufficient. Confirm your arrival time when you reserve, especially if you need the mule service or have dietary requirements.
