Chalet D'Arvière

Chalet d'Arvière sits at 1,167m in the Hautes-Alpes, serving as a base for hiking in the southern Écrins massif. The hut lies on the GR54 trail system and is accessible year-round by vehicle via the hamlet of Arvière. Most hikers approach on foot from Vallée du Drac, a 2–3 hour walk through mixed forest and alpine meadow. The setting works well for day walks to local summits and ridgelines, or as a stopover on longer GR54 traverses.
The chalet operates as a small mountain refuge with 14 beds across 6 private rooms, making it one of the more intimate options in the area. Meals are available on request—contact ahead to arrange dinner and breakfast. WiFi is available, unusual for a hut at this elevation. The chalet opens year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions and road maintenance.
