Refuge de Bellachat
5.0About
The refuge has capacity for around 40 people in dormitory rooms. Half-board (dinner and breakfast) is standard; packed lunches are available on request. The kitchen provides hot meals and warm drinks. Water comes from a natural source nearby. The hut operates from June through September, depending on snow conditions. Winter access is possible but unreliable. Basic sleeping gear (sleeping bag, mat) is essential if the hut is full or heating is limited. Staff can advise on conditions for nearby peaks and col crossings.
Book by email or phone at least two weeks ahead for July and August weekends. The refuge is managed locally and can fill quickly during good weather. May and September offer quieter conditions with reliable access. Contact them directly to confirm opening dates each season and to arrange meals if you have dietary requirements.
