Refuge des Rochilles sits at 2,516m in the Parc National des Écrins, above the Vallée de la Guisane east of Briançon. Either route is straightforward summer hiking with some stone slopes near the hut. The setting is open moorland and scree—expect wind and little shelter on approach.
The hut holds 60 people in dormitory rooms. It serves dinner and breakfast from mid-June through mid-September, with meals prepared from local sourcing where possible. Water comes from snowmelt and a nearby spring. The refuge operates as a self-service shelter outside the staffed season, though supplies and heating are minimal. Toilets are outside.
