Gite de Bénevise

Gîte de Bénevise sits at 1,001m in the Isère foothills, accessible via the village of Allevard. The approach is straightforward: from Allevard (15km south of Voiron), follow the valley road toward the upper Allevard area. Most hikers arrive on foot from valley trails in 2–3 hours depending on your starting point. The gîte serves as a base for exploring the lower Alpine foothills and thermal spa region rather than high-altitude mountaineering. Access by car is possible to the settlement; confirm the final approach with the gîte when booking.
The gîte accommodates 20 people in simple shared rooms. Half-board and full-board options are available; book meals when you reserve beds. The building has basic facilities: heating, running water, and a communal dining area. It operates year-round, making it useful for shoulder-season walks when higher huts close. This is a working gîte rather than a mountain refuge—expect comfortable valley hospitality, not alpine minimalism.

Winter bookings (December–February) are possible but confirm heating and meal availability first.
