Premier Chalet de la Petite Valloire

Premier Chalet de la Petite Valloire sits at 1,542m in the Petite Valloire valley, accessible from the village of La Chapelle-en-Chartreux. The hut lies within reasonable reach of the Chaîne de Belledonne massif. Most hikers approach via the Petite Valloire footpath, a steady 2–3 hour walk from the valley floor. The location works as a base for day walks into surrounding alpine meadows and peaks, or as an overnight stop on longer mountain routes through this quieter corner of the Isère.
The chalet accommodates 12 guests in mixed dormitory rooms. Meals are available on request, typically simple evening fare and breakfast. The hut runs water and basic heating. It operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions and road maintenance to the trailhead. This is a working mountain chalet rather than a commercial refuge, with a more intimate atmosphere than larger valley huts.
