Chalet du Rosay

Chalet du Rosay sits at 2,007m in the Tarentaise valley, a working base for climbs in the Vanoise massif and the Chaîne de Bellecôte. The hut is accessed from the hamlet of Rosay, 4km south of Champagny-en-Vanoise. The approach takes 1.5 to 2 hours on foot, gaining 400m through forest and then open pasture. Winter access is possible but requires avalanche awareness and appropriate equipment. The setting is quiet and remote compared to busier Parc National de la Vanoise refuges.
Chalet du Rosay sleeps 8 people across simple dormitory beds. Meals are prepared on-site when the hut is staffed; half-board and full-board arrangements are standard. Facilities are basic but functional: a wood stove for heating, running water, and a simple kitchen. The hut operates seasonally from June through September, with potential spring weekends depending on snow conditions. It functions as a private chalet for groups outside these periods.
