Peretti Griva

Peretti Griva sits at 1810m on the border between the Parc National de la Vanoise and the Parc National des Écrins. The hut is reached from the Val d'Isère side via the Vallée de la Tarentaise. Most parties approach from the Pont de la Neige trailhead, a 4 to 5-hour walk gaining 600m. The hut serves as a base for scrambling and rock climbing on the surrounding peaks, and for ski touring in the Vanoise massif during winter. Summer hiking routes lead to higher col crossings and neighbouring huts along the Grande Traversée routes.
The hut is staffed year-round and offers dormitory beds, a small dining room with communal meals, and basic facilities. Capacity is around 40 people. The guardian serves dinner and breakfast. Water comes from a reliable spring. The toilet block is outside. Expect a rustic Alpine refuge experience rather than hotel comfort. Winter access requires ski mountaineering skills and navigation; the hut is not snow-cleared and depends on foot traffic to maintain the route.
Book through FFCAM or directly by phone well ahead if visiting during July and August—this period fills quickly with guidebook parties. The hut is quieter from September through early June, though weather becomes unpredictable after September. Confirm your exact arrival date and any dietary requirements when booking. The guardian may turn away unbooked arrivals in peak season.
