Rifugio Degli Angeli

Rifugio Degli Angeli stands at 2,916m in the Savoie Alps, accessible via the Vallée de la Tarentaise. The approach from Courchevel takes 4–5 hours on marked trails gaining 1,200m. You can also reach it from the Refuge de la Loze in around 3 hours. The hut sits on the border between the Parc National de la Vanoise and surrounding alpine terrain, putting you in range of peaks across the massif. Snow can block access before June and after September.
The hut has 49 beds in mixed dorms and smaller rooms. Half-board meals are served daily—expect simple, hearty food fueling mountain days rather than restaurant cooking. Water comes from meltwater sources; generators provide limited electricity. The refuge operates from June through September, with weekend access possible in shoulder months depending on snow cover. Facilities include basic toilets and washbasins; bring your own towel. This is a working mountain hut, not a hotel.
Book directly by email or phone at least 6 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Outside peak season, 2–3 weeks is usually sufficient. Confirm current opening dates before travelling, as snow conditions can shift the season. The hut fills quickly on good-weather weekends when mountaineers use it as a base for technical climbing and ridge traverses.
