Rifugio Eugenio Ferreri

Rifugio Eugenio Ferreri sits at 2,207m in the Valli di Lanzo, a quiet corner of the Savoie Alps east of Turin. Most hikers approach from Lanzo d'Intelvi via the Val d'Ala, a 4–5 hour push gaining 1,100m. The route is straightforward but steep in sections. Winter access is unreliable and depends entirely on snow conditions. The hut serves as a base for scrambling and climbing on the surrounding peaks, or a waypoint on longer traverses through the range.

The rifugio operates as a basic mountain shelter with 12 beds split across small rooms. Water is available onsite. There is no kitchen service—bring food or eat before you arrive. The hut closes November through May; summer opening is typically mid-June, depending on snow clearance and maintenance. Check current status before planning. The CAI manages the hut through their Valli di Lanzo section and maintains it with volunteer effort, so conditions reflect that reality.
