Rifugio Savoia

Rifugio Savoia sits at 2,534m in the Savoie region, accessible via the GR55 trail and approach routes from the Maurienne Valley. Most parties reach the hut in 4–5 hours from the road head at Bonneval-en-Tarentaise. The location works well for day trips into the surrounding peaks and as a base for multi-day traverses across the northern Écrins massif.
The rifugio holds 50 beds across shared rooms. CAI staff provide evening meals and breakfast; you can order packed lunches. Water comes from the hut's own spring. The kitchen facilities are basic but functional. The hut is typically open from June through September, though this varies by snow conditions and staffing.
