Dinserhütte

The Dinserhütte sits at 1,495m in the Allgäu Alps, accessible from Oberstdorf via the Oytal valley. The approach takes 2.5 hours on a well-maintained trail that climbs steadily through forest before opening to alpine meadow. This is a DAV hut managed by the Deutscher Alpenverein. The location works as a base for day hikes across the northern Allgäu, including access to the Oytal traverse and approaches toward the Himmelschrofen.
The hut holds 60 beds in multi-occupancy rooms. Half-board is standard: simple evening meals, breakfast, and packed lunches for onward hikers. The hut has no WiFi—bring a book or expect proper silence. Winter closing typically runs November through April, though this varies by snow conditions. Toilets and running water are basic but reliable. The hut serves walkers year-round during open season.
Book directly by phone at least 4 weeks ahead for July and August. During shoulder seasons (May, June, September, October) two weeks is usually sufficient. The hut closes on certain Mondays; confirm open dates before planning. Weekends fill faster than weekdays.
