Albert-Link-Hut

Albert-Link-Hütte stands at 1053m in the foothills south of Munich, accessible from the village of Baierbrunn via a 1.5-hour walk through beech forest. The hut sits on the Höhenweg trail system, which connects several lower alpine valleys. You can reach it by car to Baierbrunn, then follow marked paths uphill through steady forest terrain. The location works well as a base for day hikes across the Isartal region or as a midpoint on longer traverses through the Munich Alps section of the Bavarian Alps.
The DAV-managed hut provides simple alpine accommodation with flush toilets and a small restaurant. Capacity is modest—typical for this elevation and style—with dormitory bunks and a few private rooms. The kitchen serves traditional Bavarian food, and you can order packed lunches for hiking days. The hut opens year-round, though staffing is lighter in winter months. Check current hours before visiting in November or February.

The hut is popular with Munich-based day hikers on fair-weather Saturdays, making weekday visits considerably more relaxed. Winter access depends on snow conditions; call ahead if you're planning a visit between December and March.
