Angelalm
3.6About
The hut is run by the Naturfreunde and operates as a simple mountain shelter rather than a full facility. It provides basic accommodation for around 30 people in dormitory-style rooms. Meals are available—book ahead if you want dinner or packed lunches for the next day. Water comes from the spring on site. The hut is open year-round but sees heaviest use between May and October when the ridges above are snow-free and the forest trails are in good condition.
Book directly with the hut by phone or email at least 2 weeks ahead for weekends between June and September. In peak season (July–August) aim for 4 weeks' notice. Single nights midweek are usually available without advance booking. The hut is popular with Munich-based hikers doing circuits through the Benediktbeurer Berge, so expect crowds on summer Saturdays and Sundays. Winter access requires checking conditions first—the approach can be steep and icy.
