Ricovero Casera Roncada

Ricovero Casera Roncada sits at 1,781m in the Dolomites, serving as a base for hiking and mountaineering in the Tre Cime di Lavaredo area. The hut is accessible from Auronzo di Cadore (roughly 10km), with the approach taking 2.5 to 3 hours on marked trails. Most hikers start from the Tre Cime parking area and ascend via trail 101 or combine it with loops around the iconic rock formations.

The rifugio operates as a small, simple shelter with limited capacity—around 20 beds in basic dormitory-style rooms. Half-board (dinner and breakfast) is the standard arrangement; meals focus on hearty mountain food and local specialities. Water is available on-site. The hut sits well-positioned for day excursions to Tre Cime peaks and connected ridge traverses, making it ideal for 2 to 3-day trips. The season typically runs from June through September, weather-dependent.
