Refuge Colmine

Rifugio Colmine sits at 1,278m in the Lombardy Alps, on the edge of the Adamello-Presanella massif. Reach it from the village of Colmine by walking uphill through mixed forest for roughly 1.5 hours. The hut makes a solid base for day walks into the surrounding valleys and for routes heading deeper into the range. Most approaches start from the Val Camonica side of the mountains.

The rifugio sleeps around 40 guests in simple dorm rooms. Half board (bed, dinner, breakfast) is standard, with vegetarian options available. The kitchen serves hearty mountain food built around local ingredients. Hot showers exist but aren't guaranteed in all seasons. Mobile reception is patchy but reliable enough for emergencies. The hut stays open year-round, though winter visits require advance notice. Power comes partly from solar panels, and water is sourced locally.

Book directly via the rifugio's website or by phone. July and August fill weekends 4–6 weeks ahead, so reserve by early June for peak season. Weekdays in shoulder months (May–June, September–October) rarely need advance booking. The hut accepts cash and card. Parking sits near Colmine village; confirm availability with the hut when you book.
