RIfugio Meira Paula
3.9About
The hut offers 40 beds split between small dorms and a few doubles. Meals are home cooking—expect pasta, polenta, local cheese, and mountain portions. Water comes from the spring. Basic showers and composting toilets. The hut operates from late May through September, depending on snow and weather. It's unmanned in winter. This is working hut territory: no frills, straightforward hospitality, and food that fuels the next day's walk.
Book by phone directly with the rifugios manager. Call well ahead during July and August; weekends fill fast. The hut sits far enough from main tourist routes that weekday slots usually open up even in peak season. Arrive with cash for meals; card payment is limited. The approach is safe but exposed to afternoon weather, so start early.
