Chalet Cima Uomo
2.2About
The chalet operates as a simple mountain refuge with 20 bed places in a mix of dormitory and smaller rooms. Meals are available for residents; the kitchen serves hearty pasta and Alpine fare using local beef and dairy. There's no shower, but water is available. The hut opens late May through September, weather dependent—confirm before heading up in shoulder seasons. Cell phone signal is patchy. Heating is limited, so bring a fleece for cooler nights even in July and August.
Book directly by phone or email 4–6 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Solo hikers can usually find a spot with shorter notice. The chalet fills fast during Italian school holidays in early September. Expect to pay around €25–30 for bed and breakfast. The owner speaks Italian and basic English.
