Rifugio Passo delle Selle sits at 2,530m on the Passo delle Selle pass between the Grignone and Grignetta massifs in Lombardy. Most hikers reach it from Lecco via the Val Varrone approach, a 4-5 hour push gaining roughly 1,500m. The hut also connects well to longer traverses across the Grigna limestone plateau. Summer access is straightforward; winter approaches demand winter mountaineering skills and avalanche awareness.

The rifugio offers 30-35 beds in mixed dorms. Meals are simple but hearty—expect pasta and local cheese. A few basic private rooms exist but book these months ahead. Water comes from a spring near the hut; showers are cold. The kitchen is functional rather than fancy. The hut operates year-round, though winter staffing depends on weather and advance notice. Cell signal is patchy.

Book directly with the hut by phone or email at least two weeks ahead for weekends, especially June through September. July and August weekends fill quickly. Weekday slots are usually available with less notice. The hut accepts payment in cash and card, though confirm current methods when you call.
