Malga Ravetta di Sopra

Malga Ravetta di Sopra sits at 2,100m on the high pastures between the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello range. Reach it from the village of Pinzolo in 2.5 hours on foot. The trail climbs steadily through larch forest, then opens onto alpine meadows with views across to Presanella. You can also approach from Rifugio Nambino (1.5 hours) if you're doing a multi-day traverse. The hut works well as a base for scrambles on Cima Tosa (2,941m) or as a transit point on longer mountain routes.
The hut is a traditional rifugio operating as a working alp pasture. It has 40 beds in simple rooms and serves hearty mountain food—expect polenta, casunziei, and local cheese. There's a small bar and basic washing facilities. The season runs from June through September; July and August attract steady foot traffic from day-hikers, so arrive early or expect crowds. Water comes from the spring on the pasture.
Book at least 3 weeks ahead for weekends in July and August. Contact directly by phone (Italian speakers preferred) rather than email. The hut prefers cash payment. Half-board is mandatory in peak season. Access is only on foot; no vehicles reach the building.
