Alpine Dairy Stablasolo

Malga Stablasolo sits at 1,539m in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, deep in pastoral terrain that rewards the walk to reach it. The hut lies on the Strada delle 52 Gallerie route and other valley trails in the northern Asiago Plateau. Most hikers approach from Asiago town (15km south) or Roana (8km south)—allow 3–4 hours from either trailhead. The final stretch crosses open meadows with views across the plateau.

This is a working alpine dairy operating seasonally, not a full mountain refuge. The simple stone building offers basic meals centred on local cheese and dairy products. Capacity is small—around 20–30 people—and facilities are minimal: no bunk beds, no mountain-style dormitory. Toilets are basic. The hut serves as a rest stop and lunch point for day-hikers more than an overnight base. Open typically May to October, depending on weather and staffing.

Call ahead to confirm opening and meal availability, especially outside peak season. Weekend foot traffic is moderate; go midweek for peace. The hut is worth the walk if you want authentic Asiago Plateau experience and genuine local food away from busier valley refuges.
