About
Sajathütte sits at 2,600m on the Zillertal ridge between the Ziller Valley and the Ötztal. Reach it from Mayrhofen in the Zillertal via the Ahornbahn cable car (finishing at 2,000m), then hike 2.5 hours across alpine meadow. The final approach crosses open terrain with good trail markers. This route suits strong walkers; scrambling skills help but are not essential. An alternative approach from the Ötztal side takes 3 hours from Sölden.
The hut sleeps around 60 people across shared and private rooms. Half-board is standard (dinner and breakfast included). The kitchen serves solid mountain food without frills—expect schnitzel, stews, and fresh bread. Hot showers are available. The hut stays open June through September; snow and wind can force early closure in June and late September. Wi-Fi is unreliable. There's no mobile signal. The location makes it an excellent base for ridge walks and climbs toward the Habicht and surrounding 3,000m+ peaks.
Book direct by phone or email. July and August fill 4–6 weeks ahead, especially weekends. June and September offer more flexibility. Confirm your arrival time when you book—the hut team needs advance notice to have a caretaker present.
