Reach it from Ratschings village (1,200m) via the Ratschings Valley trail—a 4 to 5 hour hike gaining 1,135m with steady grades but no technical difficulty. A mountain bike approach is also feasible on the lower sections. The hut anchors a network of ridge walks and peaks across the plateau, including ascents of Zirm (2,798m) and connections to neighbouring rifugios.
The hut operates year-round and sleeps 40 people in mixed and private rooms. It serves meals on a half-board basis (dinner and breakfast included with bed). The kitchen handles vegetarian food well and caters to alpine club members. Full board options are available.
