La Casermetta
4.1About
The refuge holds 60 beds across dormitory and small private rooms. Meals are solid mountain fare: pasta, stews, polenta, and local cheese. The kitchen provides packed lunches for day trips. Water comes from mountain springs. The hut operates June through September, with weekends busier than weekdays in July and August. Phone signal is patchy. Heating is minimal—nights are cold even in summer.
Book directly with the hut by phone or email at least 4 weeks ahead for July and August. Weekends fill fast during high season. The hut fills completely on most summer Saturdays, so book early or plan weekday visits. A smaller alternative nearby is Rifugio Cibrario if La Casermetta is full.
