Bivouac Bordignon

About
Bivacco Bordignon sits at 2,565m in the Pale di San Martino massif, accessible only on foot. From Rifugio Fedare (2,057m), allow 3–4 hours to reach the bivouac via a marked trail that climbs steeply through scree and rock. This is genuine Alpine terrain: exposed scrambling sections and loose ground. Winter approaches are serious undertakings. The bivouac serves as a base for ascending the Pale summits and traversing the ridge system.
The bivouac is a basic structure with 4 beds arranged in tight quarters. There is no guardian, no meals, and no water source on-site—you must carry all supplies. The hut opens year-round in theory, but winter access is dangerous without mountaineering experience and proper equipment. Summer is the only realistic season; expect snow into June and again from September onward.
This is for self-sufficient climbers only. Book directly through CAI Feltre (the managing club) well ahead if you need current access information or conditions reports. Expect the hut to be unreliable outside July–August. Many parties treat it as an emergency refuge rather than a planned overnight stop.
