About

This unmanned bivouac sits at 2,050m in the Dodese valleys, deep in the Dolomites. Approach via the Val Fiorentina from Colle Santa Lucia (1,922m): allow 2 hours on foot. The hut serves mountaineers and hikers crossing between the Sorapis and Ra Gusela peaks. Winter access is serious—avalanche risk and snowpack make this a summer-only refuge.

The Bivacco Lenzi offers 6 beds in basic mountain shelter conditions. There are no services: bring your own food, water, and sleeping bag. The single room sleeps two; the rest use dormitory bunks. There is no heating, no kitchen, no warden. The hut stays open June through September, weather permitting. In winter and shoulder months, access becomes technical and dangerous.

This is a self-service shelter for experienced alpinists, not a staffed rifugio. Treat it as an emergency refuge or base camp for technical climbs. The CAI manages this bivouac. Check conditions via the local CAI section before attempting approach in late season.
