Casera Scaorin

Casera Scaorin sits at 1523m in the Carnic Alps, accessible via the Val Pesarina from Pesariuzza. The approach takes 2.5 hours on foot through mixed terrain. This tiny refuge works as a base for ridge traverses and peak ascents in the eastern Carnics, particularly toward Monte Cimone and the surrounding limestone ridges. The hut lies on established hiking routes but receives few visitors, so solitude is the norm here.
The hut has 4 beds across basic mountain accommodation. Expect simple, functional facilities—this is a working mountain shelter, not a hospitality business. Meals depend on advance notice and what the keeper has available. Water comes from the spring. The hut operates year-round for experienced mountaineers; summer (June to September) is when the approach is easiest, though snow can linger into May and return by October.
