About
This is a working mountain dairy, not a hotel. It offers 11 beds across basic rooms and serves hearty meals built around locally-made cheese and seasonal ingredients. Water comes from the spring; heating is minimal. The rifugio operates June through September only, closing in shoulder seasons. Half-board (dinner, breakfast, overnight) is the standard arrangement. Phone ahead to confirm what's available—they sometimes close for restocking midweek.
Book by phone directly with the rifugio. Weekends fill quickly in July and August, especially during the summer school holidays in Italy. If you're walking the high route toward Rifugio Fedare or looping the Val d'Assa, call at least 2–3 weeks ahead. They speak limited English; have someone translate or contact through cai.it if needed.
